Distribusi Foraminifera Bentonik Besar sebagai Penentu Lingkungan Pengendapan Karbonat Pliosen dari Formasi Paciran Bagian Bawah

Batugamping berumur Pliosen dari Formasi Paciran bagian bawah yang tersingkap di wilayah Rembang Tengah sangat menarik untuk dikaji. Terdapat perubahan suhu pada Pliosen Awal yang hangat menunju pendinginan global pada Pliosen Akhir akan mempengaruhi kumpulan foraminifera bentik besar yang sangat responsif terhadap perubahan lingkungan. Dijumpai 6 spesies foraminifera bentik besar yaitu Amphistegina sp., Alveolina sp., Cycloclypeus sp., Heterostegina sp., Lepidocyclina sp., dan Operculina sp. Kemunculan akhir dari Lepidocyclina sp. mengindikasikan batugamping terbentuk pada Pliosen Awal. Pengeplotan persentase kumpulan foraminifera pada Diagram Hallock mendapatkan hasil batugamping Formasi Paciran terendapkan pada lingkungan open platform, kemudian mengalami perubahan pendangkalan kearah sand shelf. Cekungan kembali mendalam diikuti dengan kembalinya lingkungan pengendapan di open platform.
